We have received our Ofsted report after our recent inspection. St Augustine's has been recognised as a GOOD SCHOOL in all areas. We are delighted with the outcome which reflects the journey that our school has been on over the past three years.  Have a look on the Ofsted page for our report and Mrs Lee's letter to go with it.

We're a Bronze Unicef Rights Respecting School!  Congratulations everyone! This award celebrates our commitment to Children's Rights and educating our children about difference.

We have been really focussing on our writing this term. Here are some displays of our Write Stuff text based writing showing the whole writing process.

Everyone has come back to school full of enthusiasm. All our classes have

been working really hard to extend their scientific understanding - have a

look at our displays of our work from last term!

Our Value this half term is FORGIVENESS.  We are thinking about what saying SORRY means. How can we show forgiveness in our lives and make sure that it means something? Do we really forgive someone and forget what they did wrong or how they hurt us? Is that really hard to do? Have a look at Mrs Lee's BIG QUESTIONS to help you with some of these ideas.

Why not take time to reflect on this important value using our sheet below?

Welcome

Welcome to the family of St Augustine’s Church of England School!

I am delighted and privileged to introduce myself as the Headteacher of St Augustine’s CE School.

Our school is situated in West Central Halifax and serves a local community where children from different faiths, backgrounds and abilities learn, socialise and play together. We          are a church school and embed Christian values into all aspects of school life. Our Christian Values - chosen by the pupils, staff, parents and governors are Friendship, Honesty, Respect and Care.

Our curriculum has been scoped and written to ensure that it provides high quality learning opportunities, based on the interests and experiences of our children. Through well-planned and sequenced learning, each child will develop their knowledge, skills and individual qualities within a safe and stimulating learning environment.

As pupils, staff and governors, we regularly revisit our vision for the school. Everything that we do is rooted in our vision and the decisions that we make put our children and their needs at the centre.

Our School is a beacon of hope, where children and adults are respected and flourish individually; where achievement, aspiration are developed and nurtured and confidence built. A caring community where experiences help us learn for life and find our place within the world.

I hope you enjoy finding out all about the caring school family that I am privileged to lead on our website. You are WELCOME and ENCOURAGED to come and look round school at any time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to come or if you require any further information about us.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Ruth Lee
Headteacher

We have been working hard to become a School of Sanctuary and we are DELIGHTED to announce that we have met the criteria. We are only the second school in Calderdale to become a School of Sanctuary! We had a fantastic day off timetable celebrating our achievement with lots of activities around sanctuary and children's rights on March 14th!  We were delighted to welcome Kate Dearden MP to present us with our certificate.

THINK about how to keep safe when you are on the internet. If you are worried about something either use our safeguarding form to talk to one of our Safeguarding staff or you can contact CEOPS (now part of the National Crime Agency) by clicking the button here to report something that you are worried about linked to being online. You can always talk to Mrs Lee, Mrs Bibi or Miss Atkins if you are worried. (The button will be working shortly when it has been approved by the NCA.

We have signed up to be part of the Calderdale Reading Revolution! Try some of the recommended reads on the reading page of the website or share some of our repeated reads that our children really enjoy in class.
