St Augustine's CE School

Learning for Life

Pupil Voice

Pupils at St Augustine's have lots of opportunities to share their ideas and talk about the things which are happening in school.

Mrs Bibi, our Learning Mentor, runs the School Council. Each class votes for a representative to attend the meetings which are held fortnightly. They are currently reviewing the activities on offer in the playground at morning and lunchtime playtimes. This term they have been really busy organising the Rotary Shoebox Appeal, selling poppies and organising the harvest collection for the Community Fridge.

To find out what the children at St Augustine's think about school and some of the lessons that they do, Mrs Lee hosts Headteacher Tea Parties fortnightly. One child from each class is invited to take part and share in biscuits and juice.

The children then discuss the topic for that day. Some of the Tea Parties we have had this year include Reading, Topic lessons (especially about History and Geography), Behaviour and Maths. The children's feedback is always typed up and then shared with teachers at the staff meeting so we can look at ways of getting better all the time.
