At St Augustine’s CE School, we believe that French should be taught in a way that inspires our pupils. We aim to develop pupils’ curiosity and interest in a stimulating and engaging way. We recognise the importance of learning a language and through promoting our core Christian values, we aim to encourage pupils to step beyond familiar cultural boundaries and have a deeper understanding of the world. We want pupils to develop confidence to communicate in French using both written and spoken French. This will embed the key skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, to enable pupils to use and apply French learning as they continue further languages in the future.
