What an amazing day we had on Wednesday 23rd November when we turned our playground into a mini farmyard!
We were really lucky to have a visit from Ian the farmer who brought his mobile farm to see us at St Augustine's. We met goats, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, sheet, guinea pigs, a cockerel and not forgetting Meg the Sheepdog! The weather wasn't very kind to us but we all had an amazing day and enjoyed hot chocolate to warm us up when we went back inside. What a brilliant day!! Here are a few of the photos but there are more on your individual class pages too.
Our Value this half term is COURAGE. We are thinking about what this might mean for us - how can we be courageous in our day to day life? Hopefully we don't find ourselves in the situation where we feel so scared so what does it mean? Can we be courageous in standing up for what we believe in? Could we try to do something that is out of our comfort zone? Do we have the courage to keep going when we're finding things tough? There are lots of ideas on this half term's values sheet to help us think about courage.
Welcome to the family of St Augustine’s Church of England School!
I am delighted and privileged to introduce myself as the Headteacher of St Augustine’s CE School. I am really excited to get to know all members of our school community – parents, children, staff and governors.
Our school is situated in West Central Halifax and serves a local community where children from different faiths, backgrounds and abilities learn, socialise and play together. We are a church school and embed Christian values into all aspects of school life. Our Christian Values - chosen by the pupils, staff, parents and governors are Friendship, Honesty, Respect and Care.
This term, we have been revisiting our Curriculum to ensure that it provides high quality learning opportunities, based on the interests and experiences of our children. Through well-planned and sequenced learning, each child will develop their knowledge, skills and individual qualities within a safe and stimulating learning environment.
As staff and governors, we have revisited our vision for the school. Everything that we do has our vision rooted in our children and their needs at the centre.
Our School is a beacon of hope, where children and adults are respected and flourish individually; where achievement, aspiration are developed and nurtured and confidence built. A caring community where experiences help us learn for life and find our place within the world.
I hope you enjoy finding out all about the caring school family that I am privileged to lead on our new website. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to come and look around our school or if you require any further information about us.
I look forward to meeting you.
Mrs Ruth Lee
