St Augustine's CE School

Learning for Life

Our Year Six pupils are having the best time on their residential! Mrs Lee has spent the evening with them at their campfire and took some pictures. Here are some photos of them having great fun. Come and see more of them at the Leaver's Service on Friday morning. They had a lovely tea - eaten outside and were all very happy!

WORLD BOOK DAY 2024

This year, we all used our creative skills to turn a wooden spoon into a book character. Look at all our amazing ideas! Have a look at three prize winners in each class on our class pages!

Our fantastic adults have been working very hard to display our amazing artwork. We have been developing lots of knowledge and skills about different artists and learning about the process of art - not just creating a final piece. Some of our work will be on display at our Multi Academy Trust Headquarters soon!

What a great start to the year we've had! Here are the pictures of our displays for this term. We've been learning all about different aspects of creation in RE and how we should be looking after the wonderful world we have. Have a look at some of our work

Our Value this half term is PEACE. We are thinking about what the word peace means for us as individuals, in our communities and for the world at the moment where peace seems difficult to find.

Why not take time to reflect on this important value using our sheet below?

Welcome

Welcome to the family of St Augustine’s Church of England School!

I am delighted and privileged to introduce myself as the Headteacher of St Augustine’s CE School.

Our school is situated in West Central Halifax and serves a local community where children from different faiths, backgrounds and abilities learn, socialise and play together. We          are a church school and embed Christian values into all aspects of school life. Our Christian Values - chosen by the pupils, staff, parents and governors are Friendship, Honesty, Respect and Care.

Our curriculum has been scoped and written to ensure that it provides high quality learning opportunities, based on the interests and experiences of our children. Through well-planned and sequenced learning, each child will develop their knowledge, skills and individual qualities within a safe and stimulating learning environment.

As pupils, staff and governors, we regularly revisit our vision for the school. Everything that we do is rooted in our vision and the decisions that we make put our children and their needs at the centre.

Our School is a beacon of hope, where children and adults are respected and flourish individually; where achievement, aspiration are developed and nurtured and confidence built. A caring community where experiences help us learn for life and find our place within the world.

I hope you enjoy finding out all about the caring school family that I am privileged to lead on our website. You are WELCOME and ENCOURAGED to come and look round school at any time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to come or if you require any further information about us.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Ruth Lee
Headteacher

What are we doing in school at the moment? What are we doing in school at the moment? What are we doing in school at the moment? What are we doing in school at the moment?

We are working hard to become a School of Sanctuary. To find out more, take a look at our School of Sanctuary page under the Safeguarding and Pastoral tab . . .

THINK about how to keep safe when you are on the internet. If you are worried about something either use our safeguarding form to talk to one of our Safeguarding staff or you can contact CEOPS (now part of the National Crime Agency) by clicking the button here to report something that you are worried about linked to being online. You can always talk to Mrs Lee, Mrs Bibi or Miss Atkins if you are worried. (The button will be working shortly when it has been approved by the NCA.

We have signed up to be part of the Calderdale Reading Revolution! Try some of the recommended reads on the reading page of the website or share some of our repeated reads that our children really enjoy in class.
